We know you have a lot of questions about “Move-in Weekend,” which is always a huge undertaking.
To make it even more eventful this year, we need you to know that “Move-In Weekend” will be very different than the past.
It is vital that you read and understand the instructions we will be sending to you in the coming days. We also will be reaching out to you in other ways and sending you important web links.
The reasons are obvious if you come onto campus: we are in the middle of an extensive transitional period, with several large-scale construction projects and road closings currently under way.
In essence, it’s a potential “Perfect Storm” and we want to make this experience as hassle-free and enjoyable as possible.
For this reason, our great folks in the Department of Housing and Residence Life need you to become their teammates. We need everyone to be on board, to prevent a difficult move-in for any of our 49ers!
This doesn’t only pertain to new residents and their families. Returning students moving back to their residence halls also need to know the rules have changed for Move-In Weekend. It will not be a process as you have known it in the past.
The good news is Housing and Residence Life has retained a company with considerable experience moving students into some campus housing facilities. This company will assist students moving into the areas most disrupted by all the construction occurring at this time in the South Village and North Campus. Right now, we need for you to be on the alert for information we will be providing regarding specific instructions everyone will need to follow.
So, heads up! Please pay attention to email messages and mailings to your permanent address. Also, please go frequently to this website for more information. We will put all pertinent information on this site.
